Students with citizenship of a country within the European Union, European Economic Area, or Swiss Confederation

You do not need a student visa or residence permit to study or live in France. Just make sure you have a valid passport or ID.

Students residing in one of the 70 countries under the Campus France procedure

You need to apply for a student visa on the platform « Etudes en France ». If you have applied for the chosen program on this platform, just carry on with the procedure. If you have been admitted through a different platform, such as eCandidat or MonMaster, apply for a visa through the entry « I am accepted » of Etudes en France, and use your admission letter.

If you have to do a mobility abroad, make sure you mention that for your visa application, in order to obtain an Intra-european mobility visa for example.

Please note that a minimum of 615€ per month for the academic year is required to apply for a student visa. You must prove that you have sufficient financial resources.

Students residing in another country

You need to visit the website of the French Embassy or the French consulate of your country of residence, in order to check the procedure to apply for a student visa.

If you have to do a mobility abroad, make sure you mention that for your visa application, in order to obtain an Intra-european mobility visa for example.
