One of the very first things you need to do Within three months of your arrival in France is to regularize your stay with the French Office For Immigration and Integration; OFII . You will need to send via post the following documents to the OFII address; 6 Chancellor Street Hospital, 21000 Dijon:

 The OFII certification application form, stamped by the diplomatic or consular authority, after-HAVING completed the sections concernant the number of your visa, the dates of entry in France or the Schengen area and the address in France
 The copy of the pages of your passport containing information about your identity, the visa and the stamp attesting your entry in France or the Schengen area.

After receiving these documents, the OFII registers your file and sends you a letter confirming receipt of the documents. After a week or two, you will receive another letter from the OFII which contains an appointment date for the validation of your visa. On the day of the appointment, you will-have to present The Following documents:
 Passport with a student visa
 A proof of address
 A picture of identity
 A letter stamp and dematerialized OFII stamp.
Tobacco (Tobacco) shop in the city. You only have to specify that you are presenting it at the OFII. This isparticularly essential as different stamps for different purposes.

IMPORTANT
 Presenting oneself to the OFII is mandatory within three months of your arrival in France. Failure to do so would make your stay illegal in spite of having a visa.
