Journées Ouvertes en Biologie, Informatique et Mathématiques (JOBIM)

3-6 July 2018 Marseille, France

Ibrahim went to Marseille from Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th of July to attend the 2018 edition of the national conference JOBIM.

JOBIM (Open Days in Biology, Computer Science and Mathematics) is an annual conference proposed by the French Society of BioInformatics (SFBI) in association with other institutes. Its goal is to bring together the French community of researchers in bioinformatics, with a mix of biologists, mathematicians and computer scientists. There were five main themes, one of them and the one directly related to my area of research was « Systems Biology and Functional Genomics ». I applied to give an oral communication since it was a good opportunity to share our work with the community of bioinformatics and biology, mainly in France, but also with reaserchers working outside France. It was a good news when my abstract got accpeted. I am glad that I have participated. First, because I have learnt a lot from the different talks in various areas of reasearh. Secondly, I got to share my work and results with such a big community and by turn got a good feedback through the questions that I have received by the end of the talk which were quite useful; as well as the discussions that I had with some researchers after the talk which were very fruitful.
